Happy new season. First and foremost, I want to let everyone know that the 2025 season is just over a month away, and at SkipAce.com, we are ready for it. You can now create your 2025 leagues with all the DGPT events added. You can create a league for free or pay $15 for a custom league where YOU set the rules. Let’s get into what’s been updated for the 2025 season.
New Scoring System
This year we have simplified the multiple scoring systems into 1 unified way to score regardless of the league type. Scoring based on on-course performance. As a league commissioner, you can now set point values for what a player does on the course.
Free leagues have access to birdie, par, and bogey scoring. Paid “custom leagues” have full access to all the categories. There is a site default that I have setup, or you can set your own scoring system.
Trading
The MUCH asked for trading system is now available for draft leagues. Due to roster restrictions, trades have to be the same number of players on each side (per division). And IR players are not allowed to be traded while on the IR (if your league has an IR). You will see a nice alert at the top of the page when you login if someone has offered you a trade. Trades expire after 3 days. Currently there is no approval system, you are all adults, so play fair.
Open Leagues
Don’t have 3 or 8 friends that want to join a league with you? It’s ok that your friends are not cool, we now offer public leagues that you can create and join. Just go to “Join League” and look for open leagues you can join. Or if you are looking to fill a few remaining spots, make your league “public”.
Additional Stats
Have you ever wanted to quickly know how a player finished in an event the previous years to decide who to pick? Now you can easily see previous performances in SkipAce. Just use the magnifying glass at the top to search for your players.
Every user can see the current year’s player’s performances. But our SkipAce Pro members get access to additional years going back to 2021. You can even look at the round breakdown based on scorecard for each tracked round.
And our draft leagues now have ADP (Average Draft Position) listed in the draft room. You can see where the rest of the world is drafting players vs where YOU think they should be picked. This is updated after each draft completes.
Notifications
Do you like to set your lineup a few weeks ahead of time and forget about it? What if a player withdraws? In your account profile there is an option for Notifications. We remind you if you didn’t make your picks… AND if a player has withdrawn from an event (assuming it was done with at least a day’s notice).
New Play Format (BETA)
I have been interested in Guillotine leagues in fantasy football for a while. So, I have created them in fantasy disc golf. This format is a very cut-throat version of the yearlong fantasy disc golf draft league. The lowest scoring player each week is cut from your league and their roster is put on Free Agency for everyone else to try and acquire. I am still playing with the exact rules here, but there may be a few setup for free for people to join for free if you are interested. Probably best played with a larger group of people seeing as how we have 20+ weeks in our season. Or play multiple times a year with a smaller group.
Commissioner Updates
In your draft, you can now pause the draft and back out picks that were inadvertently made. There are still a few high rated players who don’t tour, looking at you Joe Rovere! The auto-pick is still set to the highest rated player, so be careful. I still recommend each user to go in and set their “Do Not Draft” list and “Favorites” list to organize their picks if they can’t make the draft.
In re-draft leagues there is also now an option for commissioners to set the number of days ahead of time you can allow your users to make picks. If you want to force users to only make picks the week of the event, set it to around 4-6 days. The default is unlimited, but 21 days seems like a nice starting spot. This feature will prevent a user from pre-picking a lower rated pro whose rating could jump later in the season for salary cap leagues.
Thanks, and let’s have a fun season!
